What is a School Connect Program by IIT Madras ?

The IIT Madras School Connect Program is a flagship online outreach initiative by the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) at IIT Madras designed to bridge the gap between school and higher education

Key Features of the Program

  • Target Audience: Open to students in Classes IX, X, XI, and XII from partnered schools

  • Objective: Provides early exposure to 17+ future-focused disciplines (such as Data Science & AI, Electronic Systems, Aerospace, Cybersecurity, Economics, Law, and Design) to help students make informed academic and career choices

  • Format: An 8-week online learning experience featuring pre-recorded lecture videos, weekly live interactive sessions (usually on Saturdays), biweekly assignments, and a computer-based final assessment

  • Certification: Students who meet the course requirements receive an official e-certificate from IIT Madras

  • Languages: Courses are primarily offered in English and Hindi, with plans for additional regional languages

Who is it for?

  • As of the October 2026 batch, it is open to students of:

  • Class IX

  • Class X

  • Class XI

  • Class XII

  • The program has now been expanded to Class IX so students can explore career options earlier.

  • Each course is generally an 8-week online program consisting of:

  • Pre-recorded lectures

  • Weekly live interactive sessions

  • Assignments

  • Discussion/doubt forums

  • Computer-based assessment

  • Optional hands-on projects/exams depending on the course

  • Students who fulfil the requirements can receive an official e-certificate from IIT Madras CODE
